THE INTERNATIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE - MEDIATION

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is the largest and the most diverse business organization in the world. Mainly, there are three functions of the International Chamber of Commerce: rule setting, dispute resolution and policy advocacy.  As its member companies are themselves engaged in international business, the International Chamber of Commerce has incomparable authority in making rules that govern the conduct of business across borders.

The International Chamber of Commerce has administered dispute resolution services to assist solving difficulties and disputes in international business.  These services include mediation expert appraisal and dispute boards.

Mediation, is an alternative dispute resolution process with a trained and unbiased third individual, the mediator, who helps parties in dispute to achieve a negotiated settlement.  Mediation generally occurs when the disputing parties could not find a common ground about the dispute themselves.  Mediation creates a larger forum which enables the parties to argue everything influencing their relationship, rather than settling a specific dispute.
